Although Seattle is known for their delicious coffee and rainy weather, there’s also architecture that attracts tourists all year around. The Seattle Public Library, Museum of Pop Culture, and The Chapel of St. Ignatius are some of the prominent sight seeing locations in the heart of Seattle.
Introduction
In my Intro to Typography class, I was assigned to design postcards for a fake 3-day event that highlights the architects behind these iconic buildings. I implemented typographic principles while intermixing my illustration skills.
For my initial sketches, I went for a very corporate and modern approach to the design. This was also my first time using InDesign, so utilizing the tools and experimenting with placements of the text was challenging for me.

I decided to stray away from the corporate look and illustrate the buildings from photos I’ve taken myself. I wanted a more friendly approach to the designs and have it be more targeted to a younger Gen Z audience.
